Frequently Asked Questions Please click on a question below:
We are based in Southampton and mainly cover Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and southern England. We can travel to any UK destination so wherever you are based please contact us. Q2 - What do I need to provide? We require you to provide a sturdy table capable of supporting 70kg with table linen and situated close to a power socket and not next to open windows or doors. We will provide the skewers and napkins but if you prefer your guests to use plates then this must be arranged with the venue organisers. Back to top We accept cheques which should be made payable to 'Absolute Heaven'. We also accept credit and debit cards at no extra charge. Back to top Q4 - How far in advance should I book? It's best to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. A booking can be secured with a £45 deposit with the remainder payable in full 21 days prior to the event. Back to top Q5 - How many people does a chocolate fountain serve? We have catered for parties for up to 800 guests. 10 KG of chocolate will serve enough dips for about 100-250 guests. More chocolate can be added for larger events. Back to top Q6 - Is there a time limit it can be used for? There is no time limit but our standard hire period is up to 3 hours. The hire can finish as late as 23:30 and any time after this will incur an extra fee of £25 per hour per operator. The chocolate fountain can run for longer periods by adding more melted Belgian chocolate. If you would like to extend the hire period, please call to discuss your requirements. Back to top Q7 - Who provides the dipping food? All the dipping foods are included in our prices. As well as the dips we also provide lots of fresh fruit such as whole pineapples, grapes, oranges etc to create a colourful and luxuriant display. Back to top Q8 - What can I dip into the chocolate fountain? The favourites for dipping are: strawberries, marshmallows, fudge and profiteroles. The foods to avoid are crumbly foods which break-up and disturb the smooth flow of chocolate. Back to top Q9 - What kind of chocolate is used in the fountain? Luxury Belgian Couverture chocolate. we can offer you a choice of milk, white or dark. Back to top Q10 - How does the fountain work? A chocolate fountain is a stainless steel piece of catering equipment that melts the chocolate in a heated basin. A motor driven auger carries the chocolate up the cylinder to the top of the fountain where a warm curtain of chocolate cascades down over the fountain tiers, giving the illusion of a chocolate waterfall. Watch our Video. Back to top Q11 - What is Couverture Chocolate? It is a special kind of chocolate that has more cocoa butter than 'normal' chocolate, anywhere from 33% to 38% for a really good brand. This type of chocolate is used as a coating for things like truffles ("couverture" is French for covering). Back to top Q12 - Can I use the chocolate fountain outside? The chocolate fountain is for indoor use only as the conditions are more controllable - even the slightest breeze can disrupt the flow of chocolate. It is also not suitable to use the chocolate fountain on a boat. Back to top Q13 - Is the chocolate fountain difficult to set up? You don't have to worry about the set up, the take down or the cleaning as we take care of it - you just enjoy the chocolate. Back to top Q14 - Do you hire the fountain without an operator? The only fountain we hire without an operator is for children's parties. We want to ensure that all our customers receive the best service possible and that their evening runs smoothly and safely and therefore we will always include an operator with our supreme packages. Back to top Q15 - Is the chocolate fountain suitable if you have a nut allergy? Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee whether the chocolate fountain would be suitable for those with a nut allergy. We cannot be certain whether some of our chocolate or dips have come into contact with nuts as part of their production process with one of our suppliers. Back to top
